The climate is warm in summer and mild in winter. It does not have the summer humidity of Durban, or the cold winters of Johannesburg and Cape Town.

 Located in the coastal area with the highest sunshine hours of any South African coast, averaging about 7 - 8 hours a day throughout the year.

 Rain falls mainly in the spring and summer (October-March), but averages no more than about 100mm (4invhes in the wettest months. The area does not have the acute water shortage currently afflicting Cape Town.

The winters of Kei Mouth are so moderate that its is affectionately known as our secret season.
